DJ: Urgent.fm World Service Radio

Urgent.fm is a youth radio based in Ghent and has been existing for already 15 years. Since its foundation, the station has become more than just a radio station. It is the musical and cultural reference for adolescents and music lovers living in Ghent and its surroundings.

Urgent.fm stands for original radio making which focusses on creativity and originality. Everything that has to deal with the leisure life in Ghent takes a central place, combined with a love for pure music. Urgent.fm is considered to be some kind of a misfit in the contemporary radio industry. It has a unique identity that fills up the gap created by the national radio stations. The station was chosen three times as the ‘Best radio station of the province of East Flanders’. It was laureate for the ‘Ghent Culture Prize’ in 2008 and was also nominated for an ‘on air award’ at the International Radio Festival in Zurich this year.
