Trixie Whitley comes to Ghent July 18. Whitley will present a proper project to close this edition of the Gent Jazz Festival.

Trixie Whitley practically grew up in the studio. She was born in Ghent, the daughter of musician Chris Whitley who passed on in 2005. The family moved to New York where she spent lots of time alongside her father in different studios. She learned to play different instruments including the drums, guitar, piano and above all was blessed with a great soulful voice. She just signed a worldwide record deal with Jive Records.
