There's plenty going on in London's vibrant soul and jazz scene these days. One of the most promising voices is  undoubtedly the Ghanaian/British singer-songwriter Nectar Woode. Soul and jazz are interwoven with pop to create a sound that includes influences such as Lauryn Hill, Joni Mitchell and Minnie Ripperton. Dreamy guitar playing, self-assured vocal lines and straight-from-the-heart lyrics have won over huge names such as Jack Saunders (BBC Radio 1), Elton John and Zane Lowe while Jordan Mackampa and Jalen Ngonda toured around Europe with her as their support. At Gent Jazz, she is ready to take the lead. One to watch!
