Nordmann has long since ceased to be an unknown. The Ghent-based quintet organically combines the freedom of jazz with the power of rock. This gave them a second placing at Humo’s Rock Rally 2014, much critical acclaim for 'Alarm’ (2015) and 'Boiling Ground’ (2017) and an impressive series of performances at home and abroad. With 'In Velvet’, they smashed it once again in 2022. The original quartet, with Mattias De Craene (sax), Edmund Lauret (guitar), Dries Geusens (bass) and Elias Devoldere (drums), was strengthened by Thijs Troch on synths and guitar. And it was a great move, as the sound of Nordmann was enriched with electronica, synths and drum computers and, together with producer Jasper Maekelberg, there was an even greater focus on songs where melodies and atmosphere set the tone. Live, the new line-up added another dimension to their already impressive reputation. After a short break, in 2025, Nordmann was once again ready to move forward. Do not miss this!
