From post-dubstep pioneers to versatile live band: Mount Kimbie continues to reinvent itself. Although they have found the Formula To Success on more than one occasion throughout their careers, the duo have never chosen to stand still for too long. After they dragged electronic music out of the clubs with Crooks & Lovers, they enthusiastically experimented on later albums with post-punk, ambient, indie and krautrock, without compromising on their melancholic, organic layers. Over the years, they have worked with similar experimentalists such as King Krule and James Blake and they currently perform with a full band to create unforgettable, hypnotic shows. And that’s exactly what they’ll do at Gent Jazz.
