The legendary British nu-jazz/downtempo group The Cinematic Orchestra will accompany the cult film 'Man With A Movie Camera' by Dziga Vertov (1929) live during Gent Jazz.

The band, founded by Jason Swinscoe, is known for its unique method of combining samples and turntables with a completely live ensemble.

In 1999, The Cinematic Orchestra released the imaginative début album Motion through leading British record label Ninja Tune. Over 20 years later, the band has 4 studio albums under its belt and has also provided soundtracks for Man with a Movie Camera and The Crimson Wing: Mystery of the Flamingos. On their most recent record, To Believe  Swinscoe and co collaborated with artists such as Roots Manuva and Moses Sumney.
