Cinematic Soul — those sweeping 70s soul songs that unfold like a film — is the genre the British band The Milk proudly call their own. For almost fifteen years, this foursome has fused the raw energy of old-school soul with contemporary funk and jazz influences. Their debut album, Tales from the Thames Delta, earned them the title of iTunes Band of the Year in 2012, while its follow-up, Favourite Worry, went even further by landing the BBC Radio 6 Album of the Year award in 2015. In 2020, they returned with Cages, a record that cut deep — pairing introspection with sharp social awareness.

On Borderlands - their long-awaited fourth album, The Milk sound more mature and coherent than ever.
