Line-up Gent Jazz complete

With the addition of 11 stunning names, the line-up for Gent Jazz is complete. This year’s festival is welcoming no fewer than 89 artists who promise an unforgettable 23rd edition of the event from 5 to 20 July.

A great deal of Belgian talent will be gracing the Garden Stage, with additions such as Alpacas Collective, SUWI, Cesar Quinn, Orson Claeys, Don Kapot, Johannes is Zijn Naam, De Snoepfabriek, Sonic Hug, Oriana Ikomo and Susobrino. Italian musicians Supermarket and the previously announced Uniri and Omasta from the Polish jazz label 'Astigmatic Records’ will also perform.

With the addition of Italian jazz trio Supermarket, Dutch-language electro-project from Johannes Verschaeve (The Van Jets) 'Johannes Is Zijn Naam’ and pianist Orson Claeys, the line-up for 10 July is now complete. Belgian/Bolivian producer Susobrino rounds off the line-up on 14 July, which is otherwise full of Latin-American influences. A day later, the trio SUWI will provide 'viby music' on the Garden Stage.

On 17 July, it is the turn of the Leuven-based Alpacas Collective and, on 19 July, Cesar Quinn will offer an intriguing blend of psychedelic post-punk, space jazz and trip-hop at the Bijlokesite. On 20 July, the Garden Stage will bloom thanks to Don Kapot - a Brussels trio which blends free jazz, afrobeat and krautpunk - and the eccentric sounds of improv band De Snoepfabriek. Sonic Hug - the quartet from Dutch bassist Louise van den Heuvel with Hendrik Lasure and others - and Brussels pianist and singer Oriana Ikomo will enchant the audience on the last day of the festival.
